But it is almost time. A time for me to reconnect with my history; to be with #thelucky16 - a group of incredible, strong, motivated women hand picked by Hadassah National as the women they have chosen as possible leaders of tomorrow. No pressure there!
As I review the itinerary and prepare I am reminded that we will be going to places that made history. Places that movies have been made about like Schindler's Factory, and Auschwitz, and places that are making history - like Hadassah's hospitals, market places of Tel Aviv and witnessing new beginnings at the wedding of dear friends.
We are reminded that out of the ashes, Israel was born and to fully understand Israel, you must revisit the ashes. It will be a somber start to our journey, but a necessary one.
Watch this spot - or don't. The blog is a journal of sorts of my trip, inspired by my Mother's never ending quest to fill notebooks with her adventures. A habit that all her children tease her, lovingly for. As I had chance last summer to review some of my own travel journals, I understand that they are filled with my history. Sometimes quite mundane, but every now and again meaningful and always very me. So here I start, my first ever blog. I hope to make you emote in some fashion. If I do, I have been successful.
Shalom. Am Y'israel Chai!
